If you use a reed switch rather than the micro switch supplied with the
AOA kit, locate it along the linear actuator at about the flaps up
position.
Connect the COM lug to a ground and connect the AOA wire
labeled FLAP to the NC lug.  The green donut of the display
should come on as the flaps start down and should be off when
the flaps are up.  

The gear warning feature of the AOA (visual and verbal reminder to put
the gear down if you get distracted and forget) requires a gear position
sensing input. This is usually accomplished by connecting the AOA wire
labeled GEAR to the cathode side of one of the down and locked indicator
lamps eliminating the need for an additional gear position switch.
