I have the AL inserts that Lancair supplies and am wondering how I should finish them. Keep in mind that some labels need to be applied to the panel. Some options I have thought of are: 1. Engrave the labels and then paint the base color to the entire panel. Fill the engraving with a contrasting color paint (i.e., black). 2. Paint the panel all one color. Apply some sort of rub-on or laser printed labels and then cover the entire thing with clearcoat. 3. Have the panel powder coated and then silk screen the labels on. My goal is to have a very durable panel that looks fairly professional, but not necessarily show quality. Just simple, nice, and functional. How have you all approached this? Words of wisdom are appreciated. Thanks!
