Also, it's likely that if you're following a stored flight plan, turning off and on, repeatedly, will cause it to become confused. I fly with the King and the manual requires that you insert the ID of the starting airport (or location) for it to recognize your f-plan. The problem is, the thing may keep trying to identify where you are at the time you turn it on as the start ID. It's also very nice to be able to stay with ATC on one com and dial up ATIS, or whatever, on the other one. Put in some method of switching between comms without turning either off - you'll be glad you did.
