Like Marv said. I put on the electrical tape for spacing and then put a layer of packing tape over the top. The doors came out easy enough. Like Jim siad I had to split the difference by adjusting the position of the little wood blocks. On advice from Mark at Lancair I hung weight from the door on the brackets (or at the arm position) instead of piling it on top. This will allow the door to take the same position as in flight. The little sanding block the manual suggests is useless on the lip around the main door. Just go by eye. Like Jim I did not put enough micro in in some spots. On my next try I am going to try taping the gap underneath after I close the door with the micro in place. Otherwise trying to fill an remaining gap or just clean up the top surface just pushs more squeeze out out the bottom. I will also tape a plastic curtain around the work area inside the wing on the assumption that it will be less work than cleaning up the squeeze out that dripped. Result: The doors fit looks alot better, which I am sure some birds may appreciate. They also seal better which may get .001 knot or so.
