The low fuel sensor from Pillar Point Avionics (www.ppavionics.com) has
been tested with hydraulic fluid with no adverse effects to the components.
This sensor could be incorporated into a hydraulic fluid tank to warn of low
levels.
Here's the text they sent me:
Hal... We have soaked the LFL in the hydraulic fluid for a long time now
and my partner reports that there are absolutely no changes in the
prism. Therefore..IT WORKS. Let me know if you'd like to buy. I think
we have an LED indicator that is plain..that is it doesn't have "Low
Fuel" printed on it. We'll give it to you for the same price: $24.95.
The LFL is $69.95. I'm shipping via UPS now because the Post Office
lost a shipment. Also, we don't do credit cards at this time. I'll
send merchandise and an invoice if you want to order. Let me know...
