The recent discussion about installing DH lines in place of the Nylaflo all
seem to include partially removing, the main gear trunnion pin.
This procedure is not recommended, either by Lancair or the manufacturer of
the landing gear legs and trunnion assemblies. These parts are assembled
hot and with a bearing mount Loctite. Driving the pin out destroys the
Loctite, probably the plating on the pin, and since the alum is cold when
the pin is driven, rather than hot as installed, the pin may not then be as
tight it was originally.
