As I also like to be among 'those who will' - I have placed a microswitch
on one of the main gear legs, which senses the turning of the wheel fork,
when the suspension is loaded by the weight of the plane. The normaly
closed side of the microswitch is wired in series with the UP end of the
gear selector, thus preventing retraction while the plane is loaded, giving
a fraction of an inch movement of the wheel fork. I have not tried it yet
but I guess you could start your take-off run with gears up selected. The
pump will only start when you unload the gear i.e. the plane is flyable.
Very KISS, cheap and light weight.
