Where can I buy either a reducer 5/8 - 18 thread (Cont. oil fitting) to 1/8 pipe size or a oil temperature sensor with a 5/8 - 18 thread that is compatible with the Mitchell miniature oil temp gauge (120 -300F). 2. Is the placement of the oil door (Cont. IO550) in the top cowl correctly shown in the manual? The center of the door in the manual is 23 3/16" forward of the rear edge of the cowl and 21 3/8" inboard of the lower left edge (this measured following the curve of the cowl). The position of the oil dip stick is 25" forward of the rear edge of the cowl and 20" inboard (measured as above). I measured this on the engine and confirmed the measuremnt by putting a light on the dip stick and measured where the light shone through on the cowl when fitted in place. So puttng the door where the manual suggests will make it difficult to remove the dip stick. Has anyone else noticed this or did someone drop the engine in transit and modify its shape? Any help will be gratefully received.
