The coldest I have had my single Commanche out in the weather was -16 F.
Everything gets terribly cold soaked but the T&B actually is more reliable than
the ADI or DG until the cabin warms up. Can actually freeze breath condensation
on the glass. In fact sometimes have to cycle the gear a couple of times to get
the green.
I'd be wary that an overhaul might be in order. Imagine to worry about that
instrument with a partial panel scenario. COuld be the final link in the straw
that broke the camels back.
I wired 110 AC to the interior so a small heater ( a 400W travel hair dryer) can
be plugged in when using the Tanis. Hopefully the pay back will be longer gyro
life in addition to the luxury of a warm cabin in the early morning roll outs.
