I haven't taken the time to install mine yet (it's just too da** cold here
in the northwest to work on the Lancair) but I plan to fabricate a plastic
flange which will be glued to the body of the switch which will then attach
to the panel with the sctuator shaft thru a small hole.

With the right plastic for the flange, you can get some stuff at your local
hobby shop called "Plasticweld" (if memory serves) that will fuse the pieces
together. After a couple of days, the stuff is very strong.
