Rob,
I did as you are thinking. The 3 inch scat tubing is pasted on the back
side of the baffle on the pilot side turns 90 degrees downward and I mounted
the oil cooler as per the plans right on the firewall. I then made an
aluminum shield to take the exit air from the exit point of the oil cooler
to within 1/8 inch from the cowling and exit the air through a louvered
grill purchased from Vern. I used 5 of the 8 louvers. Works great and all
the hot air exits out the side.
Be careful to plan it out how the tubing works its way through the motor
mounts.
I made the plenum by taping up the oil cooler; hot gule a block of foam on
the topside; shaped it with a knife then 40 grit sandpaper then bondoed the
thing and finished it to fit the scat tubing. placed two bid glass and one
bid yellow kevlar.
Let us know what you will do.
