After 20 plus years in 5 motorsports, I believe I know a thing or two about racing. This year, I helped a measly 260 HP airplane make the same speed as a 450 HP Thunder Mustang (what they used, not the max rating on the engine). The aircraft is now over 20 mph faster than stock, cools better than stock without water spray, and all the mods are aero. The stock engine NEVER coughed or failed to finish a race. It took the Lancair factory 14 cylinders, two all nighters and a few DNF's to win this year and they never turned a lap faster than Dave Anders (who we did not help, he did it on his own). Anders was not in the final, and Dave Morss ran very conservatively once he had a lead. That's racing. As far as "racing experience" goes, our team has more years in more different motorsports than anyone in the aircraft industry that we know of. Like many, we all have our share of trophies. Unlike most people, we've actually made money in sports. To real racers, that's almost as important as winning.
