After all the typing about turbines, has anyone remembered that the Eagle
540 does everything the proposed turbine does, while still burning gas at
about the same rate as the Continental 540, but making 500 HP at sea level
MP? That's what is going into my L-IV-P.

V-8's are naturally balanced and smooooth, as anyone with a V-8 in their car
will recognize. Who needs a flying blowtorch?
