You can save money by paying up front for your first purchase of the kit. We all know that the kit price is a small fraction of the total aircraft cost. You then add all the other items into the pot and some you pay taxes, some you don't. Of course the state law requires you to pay your taxes on all your purchases; even those you acquire from out of state. You do pay those taxes; don't you?
