Dunno about Featherfill -- it wasn't my suggestion. The A/S catalog
does list it, however, and describes it as a polyester resin product. Seems
to me the consensus on the LML is to stay away from polyester fillers
because of lower durability and shrinkage.
Having decided to sand down the UV Smooth Prime / Top Gloss and put
something else on, I'm researching other paint systems. The PPG DCC system
seems highly recommended, but the array of primers they have is a little
bewildering. Any recommendations on PPG primers? Also, I've not heard
about the DuPont water-based system. I may look into it, but at the moment
I'm not too enthused, based on my experience with the other water-based
system. And yes, the WLS primer is hard to sand, but it does a good job. I
used it on part of my first ES project, but don't put it on with a roller --
you'll be sanding forever.
