There are several reasons why I like the idea of Experimental vs Production aircraft that each of you have discovered a long time ago. Some of those reasons include the performance, looks, repairmans certificate for maintenance and the feel of accomplishment for a major project completed. However I have some concerns about a couple items that I would like to here some feedback. 1) Resale as the airplane is flown and ages. The Mooney that I owned was appreciating approximately 10% / year. I know that we are not spending $$'s on airplanes for the value of the investment or we would be investing elsewhere, however when we spend as much as we do on the airplane it is encouraging that your investment is growing over time. How do you feel about the future resale of the Lancair projects as the airplane ages, specifically the 4 place ie... Super ES or LIV? 2) Following the sale of the plane, when you are wanting to build your next project or whatever I have been told that we should consider the purchase of insurance to protect you as the builder. I have had others tell me that there plan is to tear the airplane down when they are finished flying and sell in the individual components to minimize the risk. Not that I am a major target due to mass accumulation of wealth but even a $5 bill paid to a lawyer to fight this hypothetical situation is excessive. What are your thoughts on this and how are you guys preparing or ignoring this risk? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
