In the original 235 plans, there were no call-outs for phenolic hard-points
that I can recall. Further, the stresses on the gear door mounting screws
(three per main gear door on the old 235) are pretty high, particularly when
the gear sucks them up tight, and mine (using the arrow stock technique)
have not shown the slightest distress in about 600 airframe hours.
On the other hand, if the manual now specifies buried phenolic blocks for
hard-points, I might consider using them - at least for places I deemed they
were truly required.
