I sent my old nose gear to Lancair last week for the self-centering option
and just completed installing it back on the plane.  With the weight on the
nose gear, I can turn the nose gear left and right, with the weight off and
the wheel centered, it doesn't move.  So far so good.  However, when I turn
the wheel, either to the left or right, then push the tail down to relieve
the weight off the nose gear, the gear DOES NOT self-center and stays cocked,
motionless.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Rick Argente

PS The gear is now stiffer than before, rotation wise...
