I experimented with this too and it worked well.  Micro only - no flox.  The 
intent was to stabilize the rivet during the squeezing.  It serves no purpose 
after the rivet is formed so the extra strength of the flox was not needed.  
But per my previous post, I ended up not using this technique after all.
