Dan and all,
Thanks for repeating my typo of 'TCPL' for many days without question. But
mostly, thanks for all the good info on fuel and especially on the
availability of TCP as an owner/user additive. Facinating stuff.
I really don't know if wax caused our flameout in the Paris Jet or if it was
water. I opened the fine metal mesh fuel filter after shutdown and thought
I saw ice crystals fall out all over my cold hands but could not be sure in
bad lighting and considering the condidtions. I just wanted to assure
myself fuel would flow on the next start attempt. Due to forcast headwinds
we flew on to Keflavik that evening. As a further note, we had fuel to
spare and made Reykjavik but then got a low fuel light after landing and on
a short 180 taxi back; they had an undulating runway. It was too late for
dinner!
But enough tall tails, I have questions about the IV-P forward gear door
springs. Does anyone have input about how well that system works? Is there
an alternative design out there? I would like to know about individual
problems and sucesses with gear doors as that's where I'm at.
Thanks,
Walter Dodson IV-P sfb 35%?
