That is a real concern for all LNC-2 owners. I've already encountered a problem with a replacement part. Several years ago, Lancair increased the thickness of the clear plexiglass wingtip lenses. The old style 'thinner' lenses haven't been available since about 1995. So, if you have the old thinner type installed and broke one you're 'out of luck', the new thicker ones will not fit. I was surprised to learn that they were not stocked after the change, because wingtip lenses would seem to be an inexpensive item to continue to stock. I'm sure there's an already large inventory of parts at Redmond, that it takes room and money and Lancair is not General Motors. However, I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask Lancair to study this and determine which (if any) replacement parts will continue to be available for the LNC-2, then maybe post the list on the LML for a brief period of customers input and comments.
