My second door arrived Tuesday.  You may remember I sent the first one (s/n
001) back due to quality control issues.  Apparently, these have been
resolved.  I'm happy to report door s/n 033 is very nice.  The latches work,
even though I received a call, on delivery day, from the factory telling me
there is a bad part in the opening mechanism which precludes proper rigging
of the chain for that handle.  A new part is promised.  A quick inspection
reveals only one issue and that due to crating.  The outer surface of the
glass has its sticky protective cover worn thru in two small adjacent spots
where it apparently was rubbing on the 2x4 support.  I haven't removed the
coating but I see no major damage to the plexiglass.  This is good news.  I
don't think I can install my door in a day as one builder did, but certainly
the time saved and the safety gained by having a door from the factory
cannot be denied.  After all, we would like to fly in this lifetime!
