I think I stripped my wing tank fuel drain fitting.  It had not been used in
over a year, and would not operate.  I very difficultly removed it from the
wing and managed to free the mechanism with a liberal dose of WD40 (it was
lightly rusted).  Unfortunately, in removing it, it seems to have botched
the threads of the plate that is mounted in the wing.

I cleaned the threads and reinstalled, and now it leaks.  Drip, drip, drip.

Any suggestions?   I will remove and tap and die the fitting and the
receptacle, but then should I use some teflon tape -  I am quite sure I will
be unable to adequately tighten the fitting without something like that.  I
know that stuff is much maligned, but I am short on other ideas.

Matt
