The bank is probably going to be pretty interested in certified appraisals for an aircraft that will probably be well over $200,000.
The appraiser that did my 4P had done experimental's before and seem to be pretty close to what the market was selling at. Using ads of airplanes are listed is pretty pointless. A lot of the Lancer 4Ps and ESP's are way overpriced for with they're  actually selling at. Where are you located at that you need the appraiser?

In my experience certified appraisers are a waste of time because they know little or nothing about experimental aircraft.  Besides, literally anybody can be one by simply paying a registration fee.  And even then, again from my experience, lenders give them little to no credibility.  Perhaps things have changed since I bought my LNC2 four years ago but I doubt it.  Your best bet is to find as many ESPs with similar builds as yours (engine, avionics, time, etc.), either listed or recently sold to provide your own appraisal to your bank.  I financed with B of A and that’s what I did.  They were perfectly fine with that approach.  Good luck.

I'm refinancing my Lancair ESP and need to have it appraised. Does anyone have a recommendation or advice on the process?
