I'll be honest, I rea= lly don't like the idea of a auto hood latching mechanism. What do you do = when you need to get out, and fast? I believe the canopy open issue is a non-issue. Yes, planes have gone do= wn after the canopy opened, but it has also been demonstrated that the airp= lane is controllable. So what is the problem? The canopy or the pilot? S= tay calm fly the airplane, arrest the tendency to participate in PIO. This= airplane has freaking 310 horses hanging off the nose. You apply power it= is going to fly regardless of what position the canopy is in. Having an extra layer of "security" that would get in my way of egressing t= he airplane in an emergency is far more important to me than making sure th= e canopy doesn't open. I really like knowing that there isn't much between me and outside if I nee= d it. For me the risk is getting trapped in the airplane when I don't want= to be there, I seen virtually no risk in flying the airplane with an open = canopy in comparison. Thanks for the discussion however, I really like reading everyone's views o= n it. Thank you for letting me express mine, I mean no offense :) Best, Kevin N969RJ 100 hours and climbing :) >>I like the idea of a well engineered auto hood latch system because the o= dds catch up to all of us.
