I had a Bonanza with= prop de-ice. Slightly different Cont. 550 engine but the brushes mounted o= n the top side of the engine case and the slip ring mounted to the crank flange.=A0 The Air Conditioning compressor was mounted on the ba= ck side of the engine. The Hartzell de-ice system requires a fairly expensi= ve timer that heats only one blade at a time.=A0 I have de-ice on my 4-bald= e MT prop with a front mounted AC compressor. I had to design and manufacture the entire slip ring and brush mounting sy= stem on my IV-P.
