Bill,

I had a Bonanza with prop= de-ice. Slightly different Cont. 550 engine but the brushes mounted on the= top side of the engine case and the slip ring mounted to the crank flange.  The Air Conditioning compressor was mounted on the= back side of the engine. The Hartzell de-ice system requires a fairly expe= nsive timer that heats only one blade at a time.  I have de-ice on my = 4-balde MT prop with a front mounted AC compressor. I had to design and manufacture the entire slip ring and brush mounting sy= stem on my IV-P.

I purchased a used Hartzell prop, supposedly removed= from a IV-P.  It was advertised as reversible with deice and it inclu= ded the governor, the brush-block but not the slip-ring assembly or an= y of the other deice components.

I have contacted Hartzell but no reply.  If any= of the members has a hartzell prop with deice, I would really appreciate s= ome help with the component layout, especialy with the brushblock as it mou= nts on the engine and the sliprings as they attach to the prop..  A photo would really be appreciated.<= /o:p>
