Regarding Jerry Grimonpre's question.
No attempt was made to closely check the runout on the backup plate before
or after the fix was made other than to make sure all the spacers were the
same length. The spinner always ran true with little wobble.
If Chris Zavatson has the same carbon backup plate that I am aware of, I
noted that it also was cupped after the center was cut out. It apparently
can handle the stress in spite of that fact. It sounds like the fiberglass
version is also doing well.
