I bought a roll of Black Magic Insta-Cling window film for the ceiling of the canopy of the Legacy.  I think I may have found it at AutoZone?  The roll is 26 inches X 78 inches, so I just cut out what ever size or shape I want and stick it wherever I want it.  It comes in two tints, 5% visible light transmission, and 20 % visible light transmission.  I bought the 5% because it is on the ceiling, not in any of my line of sight.  It has been up for about 6 months now with no trouble.  Works great.

Gang,

Unless it's a frame-less film I would be leery of any shade intended to adhere to the canopy with static cling. The fold-up type have a flexible frame that might be unwilling to shape to the curves of the canopy, especially for the larger sizes. If that happens you might not get enough contact between the material and the window to promote adherence. Even with suction cups, a frame that isn't flexible enough to conform to the canopy shape will probably be unacceptable.

I'd stick (ha!) with the film type, or get several of the smaller fold up style with suction cup attachments.

Subject: [LML] Canopy sun shade

In addition to my Kroger sun shade in the cockpit, I'm looking for a sun
screen solution when the sun is low enough in the sky to render the Kroger
useless. I've been to all the local auto parts stores with no luck.
Any suggestions out there for a sun shade that will adhere to the canopy via
static cling, etc. ??
Thanks,

Angier Ames
