Send it to Vern and he will retrofit it to the new specs.  Call him frist
to make sure it will work.  I was in the same position and he fixed mine.
I think $75 plus shiping.  or $375 plus shipping.  Much cheaper than a new
one. But still an added cost for a never been used part!
