I would like to do as you have done, and incorporate both types of springs as a backup, because the consequences of failure are at their least expensive, and at their worst, a serious danger to my health!! However, I am not an engineer, so I don't know how to specify what coil extension springs I need. Isn't home building interesting?! Thanks again. Rob. I had the exact same issue as you. The gear would extend but the spring would be on the wrong side. Below is a photo (Also Attached) of the old "bad" spring next to the replacement from Lancair. Would be interesting to see if your replacement is equally different. http://www.n54sg.com/images/GearSpring.jpg My entire write up is here: http://www.n54sg.com/main-gear-locking-springs/ Thanks, Tom McNerney www.N54SG.com ------=_NextPart_000_0004_01CE8B90.A6632530 Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
