My source of info are the pilots of the company (Erickson); US
contract planes. I cannot verify it any other way. Maybe contracts
for other aircraft related services that are included in the link you supplied
have a different international arrangement than contracts for fighting
fires.

I must ask where that news bite comes from. Contracts to perform
work in either country are common. These guys below in the link are from
north dakota and have been fighting hail in Canada for more than 15 years during
the summer in US registered aircraft. Then they go south to chile to
protect the grape crops in winter. Just curious.
