Perhaps one should consider the following for the electric elevator trim
systems:
1. An indicator that is on when ever power is applied to the trim motor.
2. A guarded trim cutoff switch to remove power from the trim motor in the
event the trim indicator is on when trim is not being commanded.
3. An alternate power source and alternate trim switch isolated from the
primary in the event of a primary trim system failure.
Just like the big iron.
