If you HAVE to move the hinge to straighten it, you can always chop a hole in the skin and drill everything out. Then you can fill the old holes and redrill them. Repair the damage per AC43.13B and you're done. No big deal. Or you can grind some of the bracket off -- are you sure the rubbing is occurring there and not the bolt to bearing surface? Constant bending loads in that one spot could cause failure and ruining of the day. I would consider straightening the hinge line. Final thought: Could the part be modified or remanufactured with the proper angle built in and new bearings pressed in (or the old ones used?) I know a guy who runs a mill/fabrication shop that may be able to help with that. You can look at his services/experience at www.rdtechservices.com or email him at: allen@rdtechservices.com. Hope your problem is easily remedied. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
