Amen, brothers!

I had grey paint peeling in one wing. (We never figured out why. The prep had been fanatical.) So I shipped my wings to Brad. He popped the lower skins without damaging them (!) and completely redid them. In the process, we added fuel tankage in the aileron pushrod bay. He then crated them beautifully for the return trip. The price was reasonable, and the work exemplary.

Danny,
It’s a bit further away, but Brad Simmons at Airframes, Inc, btsim1@earthlink.net, in Milan, TN is excellent. He painted my airplane and has been building/working on Lancairs since his father started the business 20+ years ago. Give him a shout at (731) 686-3610.

Subject: [LML] Lancair shops

I need some work done on my LNC2 and while I love doing my own work, I just don’t have the time.  Nothing serious, just cosmetics (inside & out), flight control gap seals, engine baffling and a few other odds & ends.  Can anybody recommend a good shop in the northern VA area.  I’m based at Manassas Regional Airport but any shop within 2-3 hours flight time is good with me.  I just want to be sure the shop is reputable and they know the Lancair line.
