,, Bill's performance now unofficially surpasses that of Peter Wilkins of Australia who flew a Piper Mirage from Syndey, Australia to Phoenix, AZ in 1987 for a distance of 12,760 km. Bill's unofficial distance is 13,059 km which equals 7051 nm and 8114 sm.>>

Wow!  That's simply amazing Bill... CONGRATULATIONS on a fantastic trip!  -Rick & Nikki

I respect the enthusiasm for Bill's accomplishment, but need to slightly adjust some of the information. Bill's Lancair is, of course, a 4-place with three of the places occupied by 100 LL. Max Conrad's record in 1959 was in his famous Piper Commanche and  was flown from Casablanca to the glamorous destination of El Paso, TX and covered 11,211.83 km, but was, alas, in Class C-1.c not Bill's classification of C-1.d. As to how Bill fit all of his parts into that cockpit along with all that fuel....... we will have to wait for the photographic evidence.

Hmmm,

This comment from Adam Frisch in the UK is quite descriptive, don't you think?

From the PPRuNe....

Guam to Jacksonville - non stop!
Retired American Airlines captain Bill Harrelson (who's wife Sue is a retired United captain, btw) just landed in Jacksonville, FL where he'd flown non stop from Guam in his little homebuilt Lancair 2-seat single engine airplane, beating Max Conrad's "unbeatable" record from 1959 when he flew from Cairo direct to Los Angeles (in a Comanche). He spent 40hrs aloft and without sleep, covering more than 8000 miles. Most of those hours over the Pacific with absolutely no alternatives in case of any malfunction.

Still a few with the adventurous spirit out there. How he fit his huge balls in to the cockpit the story doesn't tell. I can only tip my hat to Bill Harrelson today - respect, boss man!
