Boy Howdy I am dying to hear a good answer to this one.  The IO550 injection system stinks, unless you really enjoy pilot workload.  Only thing is, it's cheaper and easier for us lazybones ignorami to tolerate it than to fix it.

The purpose of a fuel pump is to get the fuel to the engine, not to determine how much fuel dumps into the engine. 
Even if I had a Continental, I'd retrofit it with a fuel injection system that delivers fuel based on mass air flow, not unregulated fuel pressure and throttle know position. 
Why do people tolerate the primitive and poorly designed fuel injection system on their IO-550?
