Bill: what a relief to read your comments. A few days ago someone mentioned their (Continental) engine overheating because they forgot to turn on low boost at 15,000' .  

WTF? 

The purpose of a fuel pump is to get the fuel to the engine, not to determine how much fuel dumps into the engine. 
Even if I had a Continental, I'd retrofit it with a fuel injection system that delivers fuel based on mass air flow, not unregulated fuel pressure and throttle know position. 
Why do people tolerate the primitive and poorly designed fuel injection system on their IO-550?
