A fairly stiff spring runs up from that clamp to the engine mount where the spring is secured with another clamp. I am not sure if the exhaust tube clamps were on before DeHate showed up but I am sure he said the spring attachment was needed to provide additional dampening support for the exhaust. Make sure to safety wire your clamps. PS: How about sending us a picture of that great looking panel you just got!
