The fact that the Alison never worked out is not a surprise and should the speak to its being used in a IV-P. if I remember correctly it was supposed to be about reliability that was the incentive for the builder to install the Alison.

That ES witht he Allison in it never worked out at all. It was slower, burned more than twice the fuel and was eventually replaced with an IO550.

There was also an ES built with the assistance of EK Composites at the Front Range airport that flew with an Allison 250. I believe that first flight was at least two years ago. I don't know the current owners name or the whereabouts of the plane now. I can probably get the N number from the build shop if anyone wants to try to contact the owner regarding performance.
