I already have the lightweight Skytec starter, which is supposed to be friendly to the starter adapter. The starter adapter was replaced at 50 hours by the previous owner of this engine (it now has around 275hrs). I'll keep an eye on the situation to see if gets worse. I'm not aware of any options or choices to be made regarding the starter adapter. You simply have it rebuilt or replaced. Is that correct? I hate to add this comment but I believe you have an old geared starter, perhaps an iskra or other geared starter? Maybe batteries were not charged too. But, the starter is spinning and the prop is going backwards for a short duration during start in your video. In my non-expert opinion you are a candidate for a new starter adapter. That spinning is the spring slipping on the adapter shaft. It will get worse with time. If it's under warranty consider getting it swapped and putting in a better starter. I have great starts with the old tcm boat anchor and another legacy now has the newer skytek with a rebuilt starter adapter and that is working well.
