Dico,

there were several different speed brake systems available over the years.  The original offering required cables going from the fuselage out to the pocket.   I don't remember exactly how those were wired.

The precise flight electric cartridge system was on/off.   Either they are fully up or not.  These would work with a 2-position switch.    These required a new shape pocket which was provided in the newer wings.

Another design was sold my Bill Maddox for a time and was manufactured by Wolstenholme (but no longer sold).   These allow intermediate positions and must be wired with a 3 position switch.  These fit in the old pocket originally designed for the precise flight cable system.

Hi All,

I am wondering how you have your speed brake switches wired?

My IVP has a rocker switch (two position) that has "speed brakes" marked on it, however there is nothing connected to it.... instead, there is a separate 3 position switch (up, neutral, down) that operates the speed brakes.  It allows me to put the brakes partially up and down as compared to 100% or down.  I'm wondering how the rest of you have it wired and which is the right way?
