To set the record straight re the "back pressure circuit" for the
hydraulic power pack, I did not invent it. I did correspond with Don
Plooster of Oildyne, and was able to give him enough information that he
could identify the solution. The back pressure circuit was already
available from Oildyne, and could be specified as an option in the unit -
just like specifying power windows for your new car.
In that same general time frame, Lancair had in fact added the circuit to
their pumps. That's why only our "early" kits are afflicted with this
malady.
In summary, if someone needs credit for "inventing" the BPC, the credit
clearly goes to Don Plooster.
