Dan's problem (19July)  sounds like the classic example of the hydraulic
power unit not having a "back pressure circuit" incorporated (or if
incorporated, not functioning properly). My 320, S/N 442, was delivered
in summer 89 with a power pack carriying a model number of
108AA19-AL-3VT.  Jim Franz and Bill Rumberg have been through this also.

Later kits (how much later???) have a different pump model.  Mine was
modified by Oildyne in model number 108AA19-ALBSP-3VT, and the problem is
gone.  The clue is the "BSP" in the middle group of characters.

If Dan's pump doesn't have "BSP" in the model number, that IS the
problem.  It needs to be modified.  If the letters are there, the circuit
may not be operating properly.  Also, on at least two occasions, the pump
was modified and returned with an internal shuttle valve installed in
reverse.  Bill Rumberg can fill in on how that manifests itself.

Dick Alden,  N425A with 18 minutes in the air as of last Tuesday!
