I purchased my Lancair from another party (Lancair 360 serial no 170)  who
started work on it and found out the time involved was too much. Completing
the project, I discovered the brake rotor did not run true thus causing the
calipers to also wobble which would cause excessive wear and probably
uneven braking.  Further discovery lead me to the conclusion that the three
support pads on the wheels which are in contact with the rotor were not
machined thus it was impossible for a casting to be true.  After a trip to
the machine shop and a lath action, the wheels are trued up, the rotors
track true and my brakes do not wobble and stops are even.  CHECK YOUR
WHEEL CASTINGS TO SEE IF THE ROTOR SUPPORT POINTS ARE MACHINED,  IF NOT,
THEN QUITE POSSIBLE YOU WILL NEED TO TRUE UP THE WHEELS TO PROPERLY ALIGN
ROTOR TRAVEL.  This might be one of the probable causes of brake clatter
and chatter.
