Let me answer the questions posed, as best as I can.
1. Was fuel pump left on below 10,000 ft? The only time the fuel pump
was on was when the engine was primed. Total flight at 10,500 feet was
about 4 minutes. My flights are usually between 12,000 and 17,500 and
have never needed the aux. fuel pump.
2. Was low end unmetered fuel pressure 7-9 psi? Don't know.
3. Was idle mixture 50 rpm rich? Mixture was full rich entire 20 minute
flight.
4. Was Idle speed set @ 600 rpm? Idle is about 750 standing still and
lowest Manifold Pressure during descent was about 15 inches.
Plan to test run the engine within the week after cleaning the dirt out
of the exhausts.
Hope these answers will help us all understand.
