Gary Edwards LNC2 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Tim J=F8rgensen<mailto:tj@yacht-pool.dk>=20 To: lml@lancaironline.net<mailto:lml@lancaironline.net>=20 Sent: Friday, April 01, 2011 7:34 AM Subject: [LML] True "composite" question Hi all. My LNC2 is near completion and I have started preparing all the = paperwork necessary for the flight permit. During my research I have stumbeled across the NTSB website and made a = search on "Lancair 360". For those of you who have not done that = (probably most!), this is HORRIFIC reading !!! There seems to be quite a large number of stall related accidents, = which leads me to believe that the airfoil is basically unsafe. Anyway, = I am not going to fly this thing as is, although I have had my license = for more than 20 years and have accumulated more than 200 hrs. I have now come across a set of RV-7 wings that survived a hangar = collapse last winter. This airfoil seems much more forgiving, anyway, = that is what my A&P says, and I am trying to come up with a way to = install them on my otherwise finished airframe. I will, of course, have = to keep the stub wings and make them fit the slightly larger RV wing = but, apart from that, would I be in for at lot work? Has anyone done = this before? Any advice taken! Regards Tim Jorgensen Lancair 360, was 95% done, now back to maybe 60%.....=20 ------=_NextPart_000_02F7_01CBF04B.E8AC98F0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3Dtext/html;charset=3DWindows-1252 = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.19019"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY=20 style=3D"BORDER-BOTTOM-STYLE: none; BORDER-RIGHT-STYLE: none; = FONT-STYLE: normal; PADDING-LEFT: 10px; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana; = BORDER-TOP-STYLE: none; COLOR: #000000; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; = BORDER-LEFT-STYLE: none; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; TEXT-DECORATION: none; = PADDING-TOP: 15px"=20 id=3DMailContainerBody leftMargin=3D0 topMargin=3D0 bgColor=3D#ffffff = acc_role=3D"text"=20 CanvasTabStop=3D"true" name=3D"Compose message area"><!--[gte IE = 5]><?xml:namespace prefix=3D"v" /><?xml:namespace prefix=3D"o" = /><![endif]--> <DIV> <DIV>Wow!
