I recently developed a venture called PilotEdge which allows you to fly you= r sim on an online network with other pilots and live air traffic controllers. I've had real world IFR pilots fly on the network and find weak spots in their flying that they didn't know they had. Although the flight response compared to the airplane I = was flying was not very accurate, I still found the sim extremely helpful. = =A0Caveat: it depends what skills you are trying to perfect.

If you are mainly after "Can I keep the plane righ= t side up in the presence of conflicting sensory inputs." obviously th= ere's limited value because most of the sensory inputs are missing.

On the other hand if you are interested in refining thi= ngs like the below I find it exceptionally helpful and far more efficient t= han training in the air:
- am I looking at the right thing at the= right time?
- are the magnitude of my corrections on an instrument approach about = right?
- did I execute my approach checklist effectively?
- am I organized for the miss?
- am I organized for a nearby a= lternate?
- do I prioritize correctly in emergencies (helpful to have a buddy co= ntrol the emergency part of the sim)?

The Instrument set up they have in there is very s= imilar to my airplane.

I just remember when I took my instrument rating I= had 1 hour of simulator =96 it did not do much for me at this time and I n= ever tried it again.

Thanks for your help
