Dieter,

Among the many possibilities are:

1. Poor electrical connections - especially ground.

2. The MAP sensor has a dense metal "filter" imbedded in the mounting block to suppress instant fluctuations in the pressure.  Eventually this filter can become plugged giving peculiar results.  It can be cleaned by soaking it overnight in something like injector cleaner.

3. If the MAP line has a restrictor, it may have something clogging it.  Check this out.

4. The sensor is kaput.

Subject: VM1000-4 system

I do have this multi indication display in a Lancair 360,

where the manifold pressure indication is flipping:

-engine off state from zero to full

-engine on state in flight betweeen about 16-to 30

all other indicators work precisely

I have already checked with companies the support

the measurements of voltage coming from the sensor did not show a clear clue

and a change in costly sensor is an option if the trouble can be fixed to that.

Has someone of you got some trouble expereince in that field?

Comments appreciated, thanks
