I was on a recent trip from Steamboat Springs to Colorado Springs in my little 235 with an 0-290 (135 hp) up front. With strong westerly winds and tons of turbulence I decided to go for some extra altitude over those very high and rugged Rockies. My bird easily climbed to 18,000' where I cruised for almost 45 minutes before descending to my destination. The engine was smooth as glass and all my steam gages stayed in the green. I attribute this excellent performance to my single Lightspeed electronic ignition installation. Don't know if others in the 235 have gone that high or not but it was an interesting flight. When I turned east over Leadville I had a ground speed of 240K! Oxygen? Of course! Pat Halloran
